Canadian Social Worker is Health & Wellness Columnist

Social Work entrepreneurs fascinate me. I enjoy talking to or reading about social workers who left direct practice to start their own (often home-based) businesses. One such social worker is Kristin McKinnon-Rutherford. She runs her own business providing a variety of services to the non-profit sector in Canada.

Kristin’s latest endeavor is Take Care, a monthly health and wellness column for Community Living Kawartha Lakes. In her inaugural column, Kristin tackles the all-too-familiar problem of stress, succinctly titling her work Stress 101 - The Basics. In the future, you will be able to find links to all of her columns in the Take Care Archives.

This is one column I plan to read on a regular basis. I hope you’ll bookmark Take Care for future reference too. Kristin has been a cyber buddy of mine for some years now. She has a quick wit, a big heart, and a lively form of expression. No doubt we will encounter plenty of food for thought and moments of amusement as she shares her insights with us in the future.
